Aroma Notes

Labdanum in bloom

A QUICK NOTE ON LABDANUM (Cistus ladanifer): A most intriguing essential oil. Described by the renowned Ernest Gunther as "one of the most unforgettable scents... whose sweet, warm, balsamic odor permeates sunny patches in the pine forests that cover some of the islands in the Mediterranean...". Labdanum herb has an ancient history of use in traditional medicines; the essential oil has been shown to have strong antibacterial properties and it has also been reported as possibly useful for inflamed and irritated skin. To experience this sweet, warm scent that is so evocative of the Mediterranean coast try the Labdanum from www.Artisan Aromatics.
